The Company

Meter Eye was founded in 2003 by New Zealand businessman, entrepreneur and inventor Paul Collins    . Since then the company has grown into a global business offering innovative parking solutions worldwide.

With a range of products marketed under the "Smart" brand Meter Eye is proud to offer industry driven leading edge systems to commercial parking operators and regulatory authorities throughout New Zealand, Australia, Asia, the UK and Middle East. Keeping pace with rapid growth and sustained demand for product requires Meter Eye to have strong relationships in both the parking and technology sectors.

This is reflected in Meter Eye's long term agreement with Wilson Parking, Australasia's largest parking management group, for distribution of Metereye systems throughout the Asia Pacific region. Wilson Parking manage in excess of 300 car parks and park more than 280,000 vehicles every day. Likewise Metereye has recently formed a partnership with Town and City Parking (TCP), now the largest and fastest growing parking management company in the UK managing over 1000 sites across the UK. The collaboration is expected to see TCP roll out Metereye systems to between 300 and 500 new and existing sites over the next five years.

To maintain market leadership in the highly competitive parking industry Metereye understands the need to be technology driven. To that end, Metereye has forged an ongoing and successful R&D collaboration with ECONZ Wireless, New Zealand’s leading wireless applications development company. ECONZ is now responsible for all Metereye wireless network and associated software development which allows Metereye to benefit from over 25 years of research and development and integration of wireless applications.

Together these industry and technology partnerships mean Metereye is well placed to supply and consult parking solutions worldwide.

The Management Team

Paul Collins     — Director Operations

Paul has a variety of business experience in both the public and private sectors as well as private business ownership. As founder of Metereye his key strength is identifying business opportunities and drawing upon his own and others expertise to develop innovative technical solutions to take them through to commercial reality. In this regard Paul and Roly Rogers     share a particularly close and successful collaboration.

With his wife Jo, Paul is the major shareholder in Metereye and his drive and passion for the product has been key to shaping it’s future as an international business success.

Roland (Roly) Rogers — Technical Director

Roly was an early pioneer of wireless solutions and founder of ECONZ Wireless, now in it’s 38th year of trading. Roly’s background is in electronic and software development and he initiated the provision of wireless solutions at ECONZ with a ground breaking wireless fleet control system for the St John's Ambulance Service in 1984. This lead to the deployment of further wireless work management systems within New Zealand and later he saw opportunities to apply the same technology to offshore applications.

Roly was instrumental in growing the partnership between ECONZ and Metereye and enjoys an excellent working relationship with Paul with whom he collaborates closely on product development.

Joanne (Jo) Collins — Director Administration & Logistics

Jo has held several technical management and support roles within New Zealand military and government organisations as well as private sector engineering and IT companies. As co founder and joint major shareholder with Paul, Jo has been part of Metereye since it's inception. Although originally closely involved with manufacturing her role is now largely focussed on the growing administration and logistics role within the company. Jo is also responsible for developing all Metereye technical documentation.

Richard Ludbrook     — Business Manager

Richard joined Metereye in early 2009 with extensive experience in financial and general management across a variety of industry sectors. He is based in New Zealand but has responsibility for overseeing general business aspects throughout all of Metereye’s markets. Richard has particular strengths in the development of business planning and budgeting as well as corporate governance.

David (Dave) Mackie — Operations Manager UK

Dave joined Metereye in 2007 after a long and successful career in the private building and construction industry. He initially filled the role of Installation Manager for Australia/New Zealand with responsibility for managing all aspects of Metereye installations including site inspections and resourcing, as well as on-site installation and commissioning of all equipment including software.

However Dave has spent most of 2009 in the UK in the role of operations manager in which he has been highly successful in developing relationships in that market.
